BLS (Basic Life Support) CLASSROOM LEARNING
In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with a BLS Instructor to refine BLS skills techniques . This course includes group interaction and hands-on coaching and feedback from an AHA instructor.
Students also complete a 25 question multiple choice written exam.
Upon successful completion of the course, including a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a BLS course completion card, valid for two years.
BLS (Basic Life Support) BLENDED LEARNING
BLS (Basic Life Support) Blended Learning is for healthcare professionals seeking an alternative method for completing an initial or renewal BLS Course.
HeartCode BLS (part 1) is the eLearning component of Blended Learning, this course uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills.
After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice (part 2), debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing (part 3).
Upon successful completion of part 3 students will be issued the same BLS Provider card as if they had taken the classroom version of the course. This class is desirable because it is less expensive than the classroom version and there is NO written exam.
